About Acupuncture: Acupuncture is one branch of the traditional Chinese medical system. This enduring perspective on health is one of balance. Integral to this concept of energetic balance is the meridian system, a network of channels or pathways through the body.
This meridian system communicates between all internal and external structures of the body, and indeed between our bodies and environment. The places where meridians open on the bodies surface are acupuncture points.
So, the meridians are implicit in maintaining health, reflect what’s going on inside our bodies and can be used to remedy our ills.
Acupuncture then is the placement of needles into these points to achieve this healthy balance. Acupuncture can therefore be used in most health concerns, being particularly useful in; musculo-skeletal injuries, digestive problems, headaches, respiratory and skin conditions, gynealological and reproductive issues, to name a few.
Stimulation of the points by acupuncture Should not be too painful to be effective, so thin needles and gentle techniques are the most efficacious and relaxing.
I practice such a gentle style, as practiced in Japan, based on the traditional Chinese medicine of Meridian Therapy.
